Rycharde P. Martindale-Essington
Rycharde Martindale-Essington, of Claremont, was appointed
to the State Independent Living Council on September 1, 2006.
He is a doctoral learner at Capella University's School of Education with over 20 years of disability services experience. He has written on the topics of Assistive Technology and post-secondary students, disability-related federal regulations and employment, and job placement strategies for persons with disabilities.
Since 2001, he has served as the community relations analyst for Access Services, where he coordinates and administers community outreach programs for people with disabilities. Rycharde previously served as a consumer advocate for the Services Center for Independent Living from 1997 to 2000. From 1990 to 1995, he was a civilian historian for the U.S. Air Force in El Segundo. He is a former member of the Claremont Human Services Commission and Claremont Committee on Disabilities.
Rycharde is also an appointed member of the State Rehabilitation Council.
